Helping make Des Plaines a greener city one day at a time.
THINK GREEN. ACT GREEN.
New England asters (symphyotrichum novae-angliae) are one of the late-blooming fall plants that many native pollinators rely on for food before the cold winter months set in. Consider planting some of this in your yard to help our insect friends!
OUR MISSION:
To promote sustainability and educate our community on eco-friendly practices to safeguard the future of Des Plaines and our planet.
Join us on our next Friends of the Forest work day at Izaak Walton! We will be removing invasive species and restoring the native habitat for wildlife. A great way to get in nature, feel productive and help your community. Many work days are available year round. All are welcome!
Spend time in nature and help with ecological restoration!
