Helping make Des Plaines a greener city one day at a time.
THINK GREEN. ACT GREEN.

The elderberry bush (sambucus canadensis) blooms at the peak of summer and is a haven for many nesting birds and provides highly nutritious fruits for many other birds.
OUR MISSION:
To promote sustainability and educate our community on eco-friendly practices to safeguard the future of Des Plaines and our planet.

Mosquito season is here. For many people, that means turning to sprays or fogging that can harm more than just mosquitoes.
The Mosquito Bucket Challenge offers a simple, low-cost alternative you can use at home!

Join us on our next Friends of the Forest work day at Izaak Walton! We will be removing invasive species and restoring the native habitat for wildlife. A great way to get in nature, feel productive and help your community. Many work days are available year round. All are welcome!
