Go Green Des Plaines wants to recognize efforts being made in our community that exemplify our mission of showing how everyone can be more sustainable, make an environmental difference and do their part in making the world a better place now and in the future. Therefore, we will be shining a light on individuals, groups, schools, classes, or businesses that
have worked to educate others to reach this goal.

If you would like to nominate someone or a group or business, please reach out to us at Info@gogreendesplaines.org
We will be naming Changemakers on a quarterly basis and will feature them here and announce them at a
Des Plaines City Council meeting.

We are happy to present our first Go Green Des Plaines Changemaker,
Joanna Swidzinski Endo. Joanna has led the efforts to organize the newly formed Go Green Mt. Prospect, and is their first President.  Using her own brand, Soil and Sprouts, she teaches others about native gardening through free winter sowing workshops and gives away native plant seeds that she has harvested, processed, and packaged.  She includes instructions about how to plant the seeds and information about each type of plant.  We have sponsored two of Joanna’s workshops that have been well attended and will result in many more gardens coming alive with native plants!
